Decatur Community Dance hosts two performances annually: The Nutcracker Ballet in early December & our Spring Dance Recital in late April or early May.

The Nutcracker Ballet is a two-act fairy tale that tells the story of a young girl named Clara who is gifted a decorative nutcracker on Christmas Eve, which then comes to life to battle an army of mice, transform into a prince, and guide her on a magical journey to the Land of Sweets. This charming provides opportunities for dancers of all ages to showcase their skills and enjoy the thrill of performing!
Every year, our teaching staff selects a different theme for the Spring Dance Concert, and watch as our students bring ideas to life. This recital is traditionally comprised of two parts: a varied program that showcases skills learned throughout the year, as well as excerpts from a larger ballet or dance performance that aligns with the chosen theme.
