The Decatur Community Dance (DCD) program is committed to providing the highest quality dance training in a professional but personal and friendly environment for children (starting at age two) to adult.
Our non-competitive approach to dance education develops attributes such as discipline, self-confidence, improved learning skills, self-esteem, creativity, self-expression, and imagination as well as an increased appreciation for dance and other art forms.
We emphasize strong dance technique in all our classes throughout each stage of growth and development. Our goal is to instill not only a love for dancing in our students but also a sense of pride in their achievements that can serve them throughout their lifetime.
DCD offers courses that run from Monday through Sunday. Course offers are provided in three session cycles.
· Fall Session: August to December
· Spring Session: January to May
· Summer Session: June to July
All students and community members are eligible to audition to perform a role in the Nutcracker with rehearsals starting in September and performance in December.
· Spring Dance Recital
All students enrolled in dance classes are able to participate in the dance concert to show off the skills they have mastered during the Fall & Spring Sessions.
